<P><STRONG>Storing Recipes On The Computer</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>A few weeks ago someone emailed in asking if I knew any recipe
programs.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>I must apologize for the delay for getting back to the topic, but
I've been doing some research among several avid every day chefs. I was also
looking for the most accessible means of storing recipes among computers using
adaptive software such as screenreaders and/or screen enlargement.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Instead of telling all the things that didn't work, here are the
methods being used by around 50 "normally" sighted and those using adaptive
screen access software.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>METHOD 1. Create a file for each category such as Appetizers,,
casseroles, main dishes etc.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Add to the file by moving to the bottom and pressing enter a few
times. Then enter in your new recipe.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Then when you are looking for an idea for example in the Appetizers,
file, use your word processor's find/replace feature to search for a given
recipe title or some ingredient. You would need to use the "next instance"
option in your word processor's find/replace repeatedly until locating your
choice.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Here is an example of how to search using Microsoft Word 2003 or
2007. I am inserting two recipes from a cookbook I have below It is a small part
of a file called " Appetizers, Relishes And Pickles.".</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>I will include the instructions of how to search for recipe's title
first and then for an ingredient second. The two recipes are at the end of this
document.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>Have a folder of cookbooks anyone is welcome to if you send me an
email.</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG>I Think there are twelve. One set are some Of from this newsletter of
the last few years. The rest are from other books.</STRONG></P>
