With the current emphasis on international business and corporate globalization it is now mandatory that companies communicate clearly in many languages and dialects in all aspects of life. This week’s Books and Beyond Internet talk show guest, Alan Conway, will discuss how this trend increased the availability of employment and positively influenced his life both as a French language translator and an interpreter for the Canadian government. He will explain that while the two positions are often considered to be synonymous, they are actually quite different and require specific talent, knowledge, and training to perform each.

As host Bonnie Blose talks with Mr. Conway, many aspects of job performance as a blind person, opportunities to travel and make friends globally, as well as the required academic preparation to enter the field initially will be most interesting and motivating to the virtual audience.
