This Sunday, July 21, 2013, "Issues Facing People Who Are Blind" will be discussing a topic that has been on a couple of list servs over the past week or two, "If You Could gain or Regain Your Sight". Tune in to accessibleworld.org in the Accessible Classroom for this lively discussion beginning at 6 PM Pacific Time, 9 PM Eastern Time, and all other times listed below.
Obviously, there will be discussion from at least two different points of view, one from those who are adventitiously blind and one from those who are congenitally blind.
Would you be interested in receiving sight for the first time, regaining vision you had lost, or, are you satisfied with the status quo.
There have been many opinions expressed, and I'd love to hear from all of you as to your own personal thoughts. If you had vision previously, what do you miss the most that you would like to have back if you regained your vision? For those who are congenitally (totally or legally blind), what is it that you would want vision to accomplish or enjoy that you feel you are missing out on?
Let's make this a great discussion of thoughts, dreams, wishes and yes, even fun. This program is not to depress anyone, but rather to discuss so many unasked questions and answers that are, I believe, constantly in our minds and being asked by the sighted public.
