The Classroom of the air cordially invites you to attend what we believe will be a most interesting discussion on Wednesday December 19, 2012, 9 pm EST in THE CLASSROOM.
We feature a panel composed of three remarkable sighted ladies who will discuss with us the topic: IMPROVING THE TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION BETWEEN BLIND PERSONS AND OUR SIGHTED FRIENDS.
This will be their opportunity as sighted persons who have known many blind persons to convey their impressions concerning those communication issues which together we can solve.
Rhonda Bissell brings a unique experience to this panel. As a staff member at Guide Dogs of America, she went under blindfold for several days. We shall hopefully hear about her experiences as a blind person.
Rhonda Bissell is the Executive Assistant/Development Director at Guide Dogs of America. She has been with the organization for 13 years. Currently, she manages the wills trusts and bequests program handling personnel and insurance issues, speaking on behalf of GDA from Seattle to San Diego and the designated travel agent for the staff and students.
She has also served as a Trustee on the Guide Dogs of America Foundation Board for two years.
Gigi Beatty is a very well known person in the blindness community. She is a Team lead for a marketing company, where she has worked for 22 years. She trains the newly hired to do their jobs.
Gigi is a fine member of The Pennsylvania Council of the Blind and has known many blind persons over the years.
Joy Jackson has lived in Seattle since 1966. She is a graduate of University of Washington. She retired in 2006 after working for the Seattle Public Library for 33.5 years.
We have come to know Joy through the vehicle of Old-Time-Radio. We have met her at various OTR Conventions. Her husband Ron and she are invaluable to our many programs conducted on Accessible World.
In 2008, we held a conference of blind and sighted OTR fans in Chicago at The Marriott Suites and everyone got to meet Joy and Ron. It was a wonderful experience for us all.
If you should have any questions to submit in advance, please write to: Robert Acosta at the E-Mail Below.
