Accessible World News Wire, Indianapolis, Indiana USA

In the past, the subject of mental illness was surrounded with mystery and fear. Today, fortunately, we have made tremendous progress in our understanding and, especially in our ability to offer effective treatments but questions about mental illness often go unanswered and stand in the way of people receiving help. During the upcoming Books and Beyond Internet talk show, host Bonnie Blose’s guest will provide insightful information from a personal perspective as both the husband of a patient and as a patient himself.

Peter A. Pascaris, former mathematics and chemistry teacher for thirty-three years, author of a textbook, and recipient of numerous awards for his newspaper, magazine, and online writings, has now published his first novel, “Desert Lily”, a bittersweet tale of a couple's resolve to overcome mental illness and bring balance and joy into their marriage.

During the interview, you will also learn about two valuable self-help organizations that provide techniques that enable patients and family members to gain control of their illness when medication fails:
Recovery, Inc. (http://www.recovery-inc.com/index.html) and Relatives, Inc. at (http://www.lowinstitute.org/Relatives.html).

As usual, the virtual audience will have the opportunity to ask questions of this knowledgeable guest.
