Let's think out of the box about technology that you would consider that would make being blind or low vision easier to deal with for yourself and for others on a daily basis.

Joshua states:

“I was born 2/11/85 in Rockford Illinois. When I was 15 months old I went blind from Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). I attended public school until my senior year of high school. Then I attended the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired for 3 years. In 2007 I went to Rock Valley community College where after several years I earned an associates of Arts Degree. Some of my interests are playing the guitar and singing songs, downloading and listening to audio books as well as helping people learn assistive technology.”

Tek Talk presents Dr Marion Hersh, Senior Lecturer (Biomedical Engineering), University of Glasgow, School of Engineering and Oliver Ozioko a PH.D candidate Hosted on Monday, November 20, 2017

Dr. Marion Hersh is the instructor for Oliver Ozioko, a PH.D candidate who, with two other women, created a “text-to-Braille” device that will scan and instantly turn the printed material into Braille. This will allow students or employees and many others to receive handouts or other printed material and have it available for their purpose allowing them to read or have access to printed materials at the same time as their sighted peers.

Jolie is the Founder and Director of the Los Angeles Radio Reading Services in the United States. Jolie was a Computer Programmer and later lost her vision, regained her sight, lost her vision and so on three different times, now permanent. Jolie enjoyed reading books and was also interested in a variety of reading material which was hardly available to her several years ago.
