In the world of Charles Dickens, it is the small and ordinary events of each day which gave color to lives as they were lived. in his largely autobiographical work, David Copperfield, Charles Dickens illustrated in detail the lives of poor children often mistreated by those they served. he shares that experience through colorful characters you will carry with you for a long time to come. Can joy be found in a life of poverty and hardship?

ACCESSIBLE WORLD SPECIAL PROGRAM SERIES PRESENTS EDWIN COONEY, PART TWO, ON ABRAHAM LINCOLN, Hosted on Tuesday, March 22, 2011

One of the most significant decisions ever made by an American president was made by President Abraham Lincoln.

It was made public in September of 1862 and it came as a shock to North and South alike.

The decision was to issue a proclamation of Emancipation effecting slavery in states that refused to join the union by January 1st, 1863.

What forces brought that decision about since the president had consistently proclaimed since even before he was elected that slavery would remain untouched, even in the event of war, in the states where it existed.
