The Gassmans will take you through the early years, as well as
current happenings in the Barbershop Harmony society, with
recordings, memories, and some impressions about this incredible
American art form that is now 74 years old.

Have you heard about Hit of the Week? Mike Gorman will introduce us to these amazing records, originally distributed on Durim, a form of cardboard. It was the early 1930s when money was scarce. Another interesting fact about them—they were pressed with music only on one side. In addition to the United States, they were also a hit in Europe. People collected them, to have a complete set of the records. Popular artists of the time who recorded for Hit of the Week Records include Gene Austin, Duke Ellington (as Harlem Hot Chocolates), Eddie Cantor, Morton Downey and Rudy Vallee.
